Is Knee Replacement Right for Me?

Today, more than half a million knee replacement procedures are performed each year in the U.S.1  While this is a very common surgery, only the expertise from an orthopaedic surgeon can determine if you’re an ideal candidate. Gel and steroid injections and other nonoperative treatment options can also be discussed during your consultation.

You may benefit from knee replacement surgery if:

  • You have knee pain that limits your everyday activities, such as walking or bending
  • Knee pain continues while resting, both day and night
  • Non-operative treatments, such as anti-inflammatory medication or physical therapy, provide little to no pain relief
  • You experience harmful or unpleasant side effects from arthritis medications.
